Detailed Itinerary for 5days Uganda Primate Safaris

Day1: Transfer from Kampala to Kibale National Park

After breakfast drive, or our driver guide will meet you at your hotel or place of residence and brief you about your 5 days Uganda primate safaris then you shall set off for Kibale national park which is located in the western part of Uganda.

You will pass through Mubende where you can visit the Nakayima tree and a story teller there will tell you about the traditional stories of the Buganda culture. Thereafter you will proceed to Fort Portal where you will also visit the “Amabaeere Ga nyina Mwiru” you can also have a stopover here for lunch before proceeding on your journey to Kibale National park.

After your lunch continue to Kibale National Park and on your arrival you will check in into your lodge and then get ready for dinner and the night.

Day2: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale National Park

Wake up early for your morning breakfast, thereafter you will be picked by the driver who will take you to the park head quarters for briefing and thereafter proceed to the beginning of the trail where you start your chimpanzee trekking activity from.

This usually takes around 3 hours to trek these human like creatures and on your encounter with them you are given a maximum of 1 hour with them to take photos and also observe them.

Thereafter you will return to the lodge for lunch and later in the evening you will go for a walk in the Bigodi swamp.

The swamp has a variety of birds and there are higher chances of seeing the great blue turaco and you will also be able to see other primates like the black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkey, the grey checked manga bay and so many other primates since its considered the primate capital.

Thereafter you will proceed to the lodge for dinner and the night.

Day3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After your breakfast you will head out for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and this is about 5-6 hours drive and you can have a stopover at Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park and do a game drive so as to see the tree climbing lions before you continue.

Thereafter proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park where you will have your lunch and after your lunch you can check in into your respective lodges then later in the evening you can do the Batwa community walk then later return to the lodge for dinner and the night.

Day4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After your early morning breakfast your driver guide will pick you from your lodge and will drive you to the park head quarters with your packed lunch where you will be briefed on how to do trekking so as to do a successful trekking experience.

Then when you come across the gentle giants you will have a maximum of 1 hour with them taking photos and observing them.

This activity takes around 2-8 hours depending on the movement of the gorilla family you were given to trek later you will return to the lodge for the rest of the evening and then eat your dinner and retire for the night.

Day5: Transfer Back to Kampala

On your last day of your 5 days Uganda primate safaris you will enjoy your breakfast and then proceed to Kampala.

Your first stopover will be for lunch and then you will continue then you stop at the equator for photo graphs and buying some souvenirs to remind you about your trip to Africa and thereafter you will continue to Kampala and that will mark the end of your 5 days Uganda primate safaris. The end.
